Tom O’Neill worked as the facilities manager on Spike Island with the Prison Service from 1989 to 2003. He is currently an assistant manager at the Spike Island Heritage Centre. This book, based on three years of research, follows his previous works: Clonmult (2019) and Spike (2021), both published by THP. He holds an MA in History from University College Cork.
Paul Busteed, a retired Petty Officer in the Irish Naval Service, trained at HMS Collingwood and served in Lebanon. His thesis, A Final Salute, Aghada to the Dardanelles, earned first-class honours. Eugene Power, a retired Irish Army sergeant, served on eight overseas missions and contributed to A Great Sacrifice. Both have extensive military backgrounds and are members of various historical and military associations.
