Pearl Hong Chen Author

Pearl Hong Chen is a Chinese travel writer and founder of the Hong Chen International Writing Camp. She pursues what she regards as an ideal lifestyle – spending half her time travelling and the other half writing in her study. Previously, she was a magazine editor for ten years and a senior visiting scholar for one year at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. Currently, she is professor for Journalism and Mass Communication at Chongqing Technology and Business University. Pearl Hong Chen has published a series of books under the category of ‘travel literature’, based on her own personal experiences on the road. Her books include: On the Road: Stories in American Universities; Fragrance of Nepal; Yoga Code in the Holy Land of India; Across Paradisal Tibet; Across Paradisal Xinjiang; Himalayan Quest; and Incense for Buddha. Across Paradisal Tibet is highly popular among travellers, while Himalayan Quest was listed as one of China’s Top 100 Lifestyle Good Reads in 2014. Incense for Buddha received the accolade ‘Excellent Book’ at the 2018 Beijing International Book Fair.
