Philip Ardagh is the best-selling writer of books including the Eddie Dickens trilogy (with David Roberts), The Grunts series (with Axel Scheffler), and The Nine Lives of Furry Purry Beancat (with Rob Biddulph). He’s a winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis, and his books have been translated into around 40 languages. His book with Sir Paul McCartney, High in the Clouds, is currently in pre-production with Netflix and Gaumont. Philip Ardagh lives in Tunbridge Wells. Jamie Beard is a Belfast-based illustrator whose passion for portrait and narrative illustration often focuses on notions of identity, especially in the LGBTQ+ community. His work is featured in Encounter (a collaboration with Outburst Arts, al-Jumhuriya, and the British Council), and he recently teamed up with writer Amelia Kai on The Little Crayon, which teaches young readers about the power of diversity and inclusion. Mistaken for a Bear is Jamie’s first published children’s book.
