Robert Hoffman was professor of history at the State University of New York at Albany. He received his A.B. at Harvard and has M. D. and Ph.D. at Brandeis University. He is the author of numerous articles on political and social thought as well as the book Revolutionary Justice: The Social and Political Theory of P. J. Proudhon
