Samantha Pious Translator & Editor

Christine de Pizan (c.1365–c.1431) was the first professional European woman of letters. Samantha Pious is an independent researcher, translator, and poet. Her verse translations of Judith Teixeira won a Golden Crown Literary Award and were shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award in 2026. She has also translated the selected poems of Natalie Barney and Pauline Tarn (who wrote under the pen name Renée Vivien).
