Stephanie Wright Author

Stephanie Wright (Lecturer in Modern European History, Lancaster University) is a historian of modern Spain, with a particular interest in disability, psychiatry, gender, and sexuality under the dictatorship of Francisco Franco (1939-75). She completed her PhD in Modern History at the University of Sheffield in 2018 before taking up a Wellcome Trust-funded postdoctoral fellowship at Birkbeck in 2019, followed by a lectureship at Lancaster University in 2021. Her work has been published in journals such as Past and Present, Journal of Contemporary History, and Social History of Medicine, and her next major research project comprises a history of the drug thalidomide in Spain.
