The Portobello Bookshop is overjoyed to welcome Ella Risbridger back for another event! Risbridger is the award winning author of books including Midnight Chicken, a beloved cookbook/memoir, and In Love with Love, an examination of the romance genre.

This time Ella will be discussing her latest cookbook, The Kitchen Book, celebrating good food and showing simple, effective ways to level up your home cooking. Join us for some tips, stories, and a joyful celebration of this latest book.

Doors will open at 6:45pm for an event starting at 7pm. Ella will be signing copies of her book following the event.

About The Kitchen Book:

Ella Risbridger is a writer and editor, whose cookbooks, anthologies, children’s books include The Year of Miracles, Set Me on Fire and The Secret Detectives. Midnight Chicken: & other recipes worth living for was Sunday Times Book of the Year 2019, Guild of Food Writers General Cookbook of the Year, and an Amazon bestseller in both hardback and paperback. She likes poems, cats and gardens.

Wheelchair Access

We have a ramp at the front of the shop which has a ratio of 1:10 and loading capacity of 300kg, and so should be able to be used by most wheelchair users or those with mobility vehicles. The front doors are fully automated. Our shop interior is designed to allow access throughout for wheelchair users and prams, though please note there is only 700mm wide clearance to access the staff toilet.

Sound

We use a PA system to enhance the audio at our live events. We also have a hearing loop system installed, if you’d like to use our loop system during an event please let us know and we’ll make sure we have it set up and connected to the live audio feed during the event. If you wish to attend an event and require BSL interpretation, please give us a few weeks notice and we’ll do our best to arrange an interpreter.
