Kids & Teen Summer Book Club - Book Swap and Check-In

The Summer Book Clubs are underway and we're hosting a book swap to celebrate! Bring along a book to swap with your fellow Summer Book Club members and remember to bring your booklet to collect stamps and prizes for any books you've read so far.
The Porty Books Summer Book Club is here once more to encourage kids to read for pleasure during their summer holidays. This time we've added a brand new challenge intended for teens with different prompts and prizes. Participate by collecting a booklet from the bookshop and completing the bingo board featuring nine different reading prompts. Bring your booklet into the bookshop to get stamps and collect your prizes!
The Summer Book Clubs begin on Tuesday 23rd June and end on Sunday 9th August.

On Sunday 9th August it’ll be time to wrap up. We’d love to hear what you’ve read and enjoyed, and maybe you could write us some recommendations for some of your favourite books?

Wheelchair Access
We have a ramp at the front of the shop which has a ratio of 1:10 and loading capacity of 300kg, and so should be able to be used by most wheelchair users or those with mobility vehicles. The front doors are fully automated. Our shop interior is designed to allow access throughout for wheelchair users and prams, though please note there is only 700mm wide clearance to access the staff toilet.
Sound
We use a PA system to enhance the audio at our live events. We also have a hearing loop system installed, if you’d like to use our loop system during an event please let us know and we’ll make sure we have it set up and connected to the live audio feed during the event. If you wish to attend an event and require BSL interpretation, please give us a few weeks notice and we’ll do our best to arrange an interpreter.
