Paper Assemblage Workshop with Studio Mol at The Portobello Bookshop

We are so excited to welcome Studio Mol to the bookshop for a paper assemblage workshop! The project you'll work on is perfectly suited for readers: personalised reading wishlists.

Whether tucked into a book, propped on a desk, or displayed in a frame, these wishlist artworks are designed to live beyond the workshop. Each one becomes a small, personal reminder of the books you want to read and the joy of making something by hand. Thoughtfully designed but easy to use, they’re a creative keepsake that blends function and self-expression — something to return to again and again.

In this 2-hour workshop, participants will create up to three unique paper assemblage pieces designed to hold their personal reading wishlists. Using hand-cut shapes and curated colour palettes, they’ll design the front of a foldable card — part artwork, part functional object. Inside, there’s space to jot down books to read, and the finished piece can be used as a bookmark, displayed on a desk, or even framed.

Guided by Sophie and Hannah of Studio Mol, the session is relaxed, hands-on, and suitable for all — no experience needed, just a love of books and a curiosity for paper play. All materials provided.

Please note: Tickets for our events are non-refundable. Professional photography and videography may take place during this event. Thank you for your understanding.
