Pride Book Group: Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit
On:22nd June 2022, 6:00pm - 7:15pm

Join us on Wednesday 22nd June for the first of two special Pride Book Group meetings! We'll be discussing Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson.
Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit is Jeanette Winterson's semi-autobiographical novel about a teenage woman in a small, working-class town who has been brought up in a religious household, with a particularly ardent mother. It’s not until she falls for one of her converts, Melanie, that Jeanette realises she may not grow up to be the missionary she imagined. An extraordinary piece of coming-of-age autofiction, this is an exemplary exploration of religion, queer identity and the working-class experience.
Doors will be open from 6pm, so please arrive for a 6.15pm start. You will receive a complimentary drink on the night, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options will be available.
Please note: Tickets for our events are non-refundable. Professional photography and videography may take place during this event. Thank you for your understanding.
