Stitch It, Don't Ditch It – Mending Workshop
A Mending Workshop with Mary Morton & Jeanna Wigger
Attendance options:

We are thrilled to welcome Mary V Morton and Jeanna Wigger to the bookshop for a mending masterclass in celebration of their new book, Stitch It, Don't Ditch It. This class is open to anyone who is keen to practice a more sustainable approach to their clothes. So do join us for a deep-dive into how to tackle garment repairs by hand!
In this workshop, you’ll be guided through the process of considering the type of damage to your clothes and which materials and hand mending approach will best work together for a long-lasting repair. Using just a few core hand sewing techniques and basic sewing supplies, you can repair just about anything made of textiles, either visibly or subtly, based on your preference, skills, and your garment’s needs.
Attendees need to bring a damaged article of clothing for the masterclass. Basic sewing supplies and patch materials will be provided, but attendees should come prepared with their own specialty materials (like zippers) if needed for their mending projects!
As always, tea and coffee will be provided throughout the evening, and Mary and Jeanna will sign your copy of Stitch It, Don't Ditch It, too!
Please note: Tickets for our events are non-refundable. Professional photography and videography may take place during this event. Thank you for your understanding.
