Walking Tour with Hannah Robinson
Author of Secret Edinburgh: an Unusual Guide

Please note that this event will take place in and around Portobello, but attendees will be meeting at the bookshop.
Join Hannah Robinson on a stroll around some of Portobello's hidden gems, as featured in the new edition of her book Secret Edinburgh: an Unusual Guide.
Attendees will meet Hannah at the bookshop at 12.30pm before setting off on the walking tour shortly afterwards. The walk will last approximately one hour and then you can come back to the bookshop to get your copy of Secret Edinburgh signed and dedicated.
We encourage attendees to wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.

Secret Edinburgh is an indispensable street and armchair guide for those who thought they knew Edinburgh well or who would like to explore the curiosities of this most secretive of cities.

Hannah Robinson Author
Hannah Robinson is an Edinburgh-born writer and film director who has won two Hollywood awards for screenwriting, and works as a story consultant with Sir Lenny Henry. Her mother Alison Robinson lived in Portobello and recreated the Coadestone crowns for the Portobello pillars. Hannah has made many documentaries about rescued buildings and monuments, has worked as a food journalist for The Scotsman and The List magazine, and as art department for the Edinburgh International Film Festival. She has an insatiable curiosity for discovering new places, people and stories.

Wheelchair Access
We have a ramp at the front of the shop which has a ratio of 1:10 and loading capacity of 300kg, and so should be able to be used by most wheelchair users or those with mobility vehicles. The front doors are fully automated. Our shop interior is designed to allow access throughout for wheelchair users and prams, though please note there is only 700mm wide clearance to access the staff toilet.
Sound
We use a PA system to enhance the audio at our live events. We also have a hearing loop system installed, if you’d like to use our loop system during an event please let us know and we’ll make sure we have it set up and connected to the live audio feed during the event. If you wish to attend an event and require BSL interpretation, please give us a few weeks notice and we’ll do our best to arrange an interpreter.
