Pressing Matters - Issue 29

With the start of a new year comes the chance to reflect and, perhaps, reset a little. Feeling in a rut with your technique? How about approaching it with a sense of playfulness and collaboration, combining some of your artwork with some by a print pal, to build something new, full of layers and explore the new narratives that arise. Whether our featured artists draw their ideas from their heritage or take a more ethereal approach to printmaking, there are plenty of stories in this issue to inspire your new creations.

There are themes of abstraction, improvisation and curiosity dotted throughout this edition, with our makers trusting their process and seeing where it takes them. As Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. points out in his article, “There are no mistakes in printing – only opportunities to make something unexpected.”
