Set in the present day, the story chronicles how these three join together and embark on a project to save the world and discover the nature of their nightmare. Arnold, a retired lawyer, and Dee, an Anglo-Indian college graduate, are from England. Amos, a Native American, is a miner in West Virginia, originally from Northern Idaho. Their travels take them across America to West Virginia, Washington, DC, Delaware, Idaho, Seattle and Lima, Peru. This novel brings together the clash of forces between nature and society as the three struggle to make sense of the chaotic world of the Perfect Nightmare.
