The Son of Man

In the near future, a mysterious disease is spreading across the globe, killing one sixth of the female population as they enter their prime. The cause is a mystery, and a cure remains stubbornly elusive.

At Fermilab 5, west of Chicago, a team of physicists experiences a shocking result when an experiment appears to go rogue, defying all logic. Yet in trying to solve the conundrum, the team edges ever closer to uncovering the fundamental secrets of the universe.

For the church, the former is its salvation, the latter an existential threat.

But there is a complication. The church appears to have incontrovertible evidence that the Messiah has returned. And he is not what anyone expected.
