Gilian the Dreamer

Set at the end of the Napoleonic Wars, as disaffected soldiers are returning to their homes in the Highlands, this book tells the story of Gilian -- a sensitive young boy who has only known the old ways of the Highlands, and for whom the new social order brings both danger and the promise of adventure.
