When in July 2024 the incoming Labour Government announced as one of its priorities to stop hereditary peers sitting and voting in the House of Lords, Unicorn’s Chairman and backbench hereditary peer Lord Strathcarron decided to write about the political machinations involved in the Government trying to abolish him on the one hand, and the Opposition trying to foil abolition on the other.
