Global Cities in Indonesia

This book examines the development of global cities in Indonesia and proposes a new paradigm for urban development, grounded in inclusive social development. Inclusive development is defined as a new approach to development by developing an increasingly open environment, inviting and inclusive of everyone with different backgrounds, characteristics, abilities, status, conditions, ethnicities, and cultures. Urban development in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia, requires a more specific approach, particularly related to the inclusive social development paradigm, which emphasizes human interaction and participation. The inclusive social development paradigm highlights important structural, social, and cultural aspects. This book demonstrates that these three aspects of development do not stand alone but are interconnected and mutually supportive, which in turn reveals how they operate.
