Fabio Redi Author

Fabio Redi, Full Professor of Medieval Archaeology at the University of L'Aquila from 1994 until his retirement in 2018, has held important positions such as Director of the Department of History and Comparative Methodologies, Coordinator of the Doctorate in Medieval Archaeology, Coordinator of the Programme Agreement on Heritage Interpretation between Universities and Natural Parks, Director of numerous archaeological excavations in Tuscany and Abruzzo and of two missions in Cappadocia. He has worked in archaeology, urban planning, and architectural structures, with a particular focus on historic buildings, settlements, fortifications, political and cultural borders, material production, and public archaeology. He was a member of the Academic Senate and the College of Department Directors at the University of L'Aquila, and Director of the Archaeological Section of the Lucchese Historical Institute. He has received several awards, including the Amilcare Pizzi Prize for the Editorial Project on the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa; the Onna Prize for studies on the enhancement of the L'Aquila area; and the “San Ranieri” award from the Accademia Pisana dei Disuniti.
