T. K. Sebastian is a poet and academic interested in comparative colonisation legacies and the employment of hybrid literary and non-literary forms in their exploration and representation. Her interdisciplinary doctoral research interweaves the past and current repercussions of the Ottoman Colonisation on the indigenous populace of Asia Minor and Western Armenia (modern-day Turkey)  via the prism of ‘social death’. Simultaneously challenging outmoded perspectives of seeing and patterns of being, TK Sebastian’s award-winning novel in verse brings to light the human toll of glorified histories and contested body counts through a searingly beautiful intergenerational story of survival.
