Central Cardiff - The Second Selection

This second selection of photographs by Brian Lee depicting the historic central area of Cardiff further illustrates the diversity and interest of the area.

The book follows the lead of the first, taking in the shops, businesses, streets and buildings of central Cardiff, as well as the Castle and Civic Centre. It is able to look in more detail at the historic and incidental events of Cardiff. Taking in the Empire Swimming Pool, the Arms Park as well as the South Wales Echo and Western Mail offices, it provides an invaluable addition to the series.

This endearing collection provides an unparalleled insight into Central Cardiff and gives a glimpse of the streets of a city centre so well known to so many. It shows the people of Cardiff at work and leisure. Many of these photographs are in print for the first time and will provide pleasure for many.

The author has constructed a book that will provide older residents of the area with a nostalgic look at the recent past and bring to newcomers and the young an opportunity to see how things used to be.
